Try to use a multi attachment wrench if you can. It will give you freedom to open any bolt of any size.

Now, start opening up the bolt using a wrench and carefully remove it using safety gloves. Also, remove the knobs from the connections and clean them because of the corrosion and the amount of chemical stuck to the connectors.

Clean the battery with a cloth and clean it well. This will help you to take out the battery in a better way and you will not have to worry about handling it.
