UAN or Universal Account Number is gradually going to become a mandatory task for every salaried employee. The purpose behind that is very simple, to track your EPF account transactions properly.

I am receiving many questions regarding how to withdraw EPF money, whether to transfer or withdraw EPF balance etc. All these queries will be resolved with the introduction of UAN. It’s like a bank account number, one can use all the time till retire. Anyway let’s check out the steps to know the status of your UAN application.
Step 1 : First of all visit UAN official website https://uanmembers.epfoservices.in (for employees). If you are an employer then you have to visit a separate portal. https://employerclaims.epfoservices.in
Step 2 : Now in the employee UAN website find out the “Know Your UAN Status” blinking on the top left side. Click on that link. A new page will open where you can see it is asking for your EPF details.
Step 3 : Now provide the details in that screen. Select state and area and then it will automatically populate Region & Office of your PF account number.
Step 4 : Then provide Est Code, Ext & A/c no and click on check status. I found the message “UAN is not allotted”.
