4 Ways To Check Your Provident Fund Balance (EPF Balance Check Online)
Here are the 4 different ways to check your employee provident fund money online.
Using the EPFO Website ( https://epfindia.gov.in )
This is one of the oldest and typical ways to check your provident fund account balance online. Simply follow the below steps and check EPF balance using UAN.
- Visit the EPFO website https://epfindia.gov.in
- Look for SERVICES option on the menu and click on “For Employees”
- Then it will open a new page where the search for “Member passbook”. Now a new website will open where you have to provide your UAN details and download EPF passbook. But make sure you have linked your EPF account with UAN to use this facility. So, make sure you have activated your UAN with the help of your employer. EPF balance check with UAN number is the most popular one these days.
The passbook facility is not available for members of establishments that are exempt under the EPF Scheme, 1952. If you still try to log in, you will get this message: “Passbook not available to this Member-id as this pertains to the exempted establishment (i.e. Trust). Requested to contact your employer.”
How To Check EPF Balance by SMS
Now, if you don’t want to check EPF balance via EPFO portal, then it is better to follow the below steps and know your PF account balance through SMS short codes provided below.
Step1: It is assumed that you have activated your UAN. In that case, send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 77382 99899.
Step 2: Next type EPFOHO UAN followed by first three characters of preferred language (English, Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Bengali) in your mobile screen.
For example, if you would like to receive SMS in English, you should send an SMS as EPFOHO UAN ENG to 77382 99899. The EPFO would send the members details available with it along with details of the KYC seeded, last contribution and Total PF balance.
In case of any issue, you can now contact to EPFO help desk number 1800118005. This is a toll-free number and operates between 09:15 AM to 05:45 PM only. So don’t forget to call between this time in case if you are not able to check your EPF account balance through SMS.
How To Check EPF balance by a missed call
Want to check your provident account balance quickly? Then EPF missed call service is the best way to check EPF balance. This service is totally free of cost.
To know your latest EPF balance, simply give missed call on 011-22901406 (epf balance check toll-free number) from your registered mobile number. Now the mobile number is the one which you have linked to your Addhaar number and that has to be further linked with UAN number.
So, make sure your UAN is seeded with your bank account number, Aadhaar, and PAN, else ask your employer to seed them for you.
Use EPFO Mobile App & Check Your EPF Balance Online
You can easily download EPF mobile app from Google play store and access the EPF data using your registered mobile number and UAN data. Then simply click on ‘Member’ and then on ‘Balance/Passbook’ to get the EPF account statement and find the latest EPF balance.
