Pm Narendra Modi has launched so many schemes & yojna’s this year for the betterment of our society. One more is going to add in this kitty soon, that is Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).

Recently we have shared about his dream to have every Indian a home by 2022 and for that the launch of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In a similar note, now its time to take a look at the power sector in our villages & remotes places.

To address the electricity & power consumption issue and to find out a better solution, PM is going to launch a new scheme Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).

What is Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY)

The tagline for this new scheme in Hindi is “Har Ghar Bijli, Har Ghar Pani, Gaon Gaon faili Khushali”. So, the message is clear that, the development in rural areas of our country to provide the very basic amenities like electricity & water. PM has launched this Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), on 25th July 2015 at Veterinary College Maidan, Patna.

Under this scheme various issues will be addressed like

  • Provide electricity to all villages
  • Provide enough power to farmers regularly
  • Improve the reliability of power supply, so that power can be supplied continuously with quality
  • Implementation of meter system to track the consumption and also to minimize the loss.

This will definitely change the living atmosphere in villages. It will help farmers to improve their agricultural income more by producing crops with high quality at right time. Small business owners can get enough electricity to run their business better way. Health, education,banking system will get a chance to improve with developed cities. Accessibility of internet would be possible, which is a must at this age.

But, to implement Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), Govt need huge fund. As per estimate, Govt need 76,000 crores to implement this scheme in various villages. Out of which already 14,680 crore amount has been approved for various projects in Bihar.
